Active sports have the ability to bring a community together while ensuring a healthy society. Sporting activities carries the same social benefits as the steelpan, it is therefore only fitting that they complement one another. Diatonic will establish an active football league in Siparia and its environs, in addition it will stage a major annual athletics event. The objective is to bring the community together in a form of friendly rivalry and to create a healthy society, while offering positive distractions for our youths.

Vernon Dimsoy Chairman
Mr. Dimsoy is currently employed as a CME Foreman with the Ministry of Works. Mr. Dimsoy is a sports enthusiast and an accomplished football coach. He served as coach of the Fyzabad Composite secondary school before ascending to the position of coach of the leading team in Siparia, the Siparia Spurs, a position he still holds. Mr. Dimsoy has coached the Siparia Spurs to several league and league cup titles and narrowly missed out on promotion to the super league in 2010. In addition, Mr Dimsoy served as the assistant manager of Siparia Deltones Steel Orchestra for many years, and was a member of the Ellis Knights Commemorative Committee that erected the only statue of a living pan legend and the only statue to date to be erected in Siparia.
